While I'm sure I'll quickly realize how much work goes into managing a residence, I believe that I'll be able to transition into that lifestyle with (hopefully) as little roadbumps as possible.

I realized last week that this fall season is the first one, since 2002, that I have not had any marching commitments. I started marching in a drumline in 2003 during my freshman year of high school. Ever since, I've devoted each fall to a marching ensemble up through my college career. To nobody's surprise, I still am involved with a fall marching band, but that's on the teaching side.

-

Weird -- Yesterday, I spent a lot of time thinking about how different my life is going to be over the next few months. I must say that I really do enjoy the job I'm at right now with Vanguard. One thing that I noticed has carried over from college is that I still wish there were more hours in the day. Oh well....

And how do I spend the weekend I have off from drum corps?? By going to see other drum corps...haha, good times though.

The big thing this weekend (to myself and others in the activity at least) is the DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, PA. This show is a big regional for the activity where most, if not all, DCI drum corps come to compete before they head out to Indianapolis for finals next week. Last night was the first set of performances and tonight looks to be a promising lineup as well!

The weather doesn't look to good for the Allentown area right now....here's to hoping it all clears up! Best of luck to all those performing tonight!

-

So glad to be at the beach for my vacation.
